Mackinac Island Moose
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Only 1 home game this week, but a very good test, as the 5-2-1 Dallas Drakes, come to the Island before the Moose take off on a 3 game road trip.
GAME #1: DALLAS DRAKES VS. MACKINAC ISLAND MOOSE	The two teams definitely have a defense at the top of their list as we only have a total of 3 SOG 7 minutes in. Larson makes the first mistake with a roughing penalty, but his mates are able to cover for him and kill off the penalty, allowing only a couple of shots, only one on goal. With 8 minutes to go, Reid and Price are in a skirmish that opens up the ice, 4-on-4 action. And the Drakes like the openings, with Dionne getting one in, to make it 1-0 Drakes. No more penalties and the Moose finally find a matchup to their liking, as the first line scores twice in the last minute, Propp with both scores, and the Moose flip the advantage to their side, 2-1 at the first intermission. 2nd period sees Price in a bigger fight with Ramage, and they both get 5 minutes. He injures his thumb and is done. 5 minutes later, just as they are looking to leave the sin bin, Carson finds an opening and ties the game at 2, with 12 minutes to go. Some lively play in the period as the teams combine for 20 SOG. Seiling with a minor at 5 minutes to go, opens the door for the Drakes, but the Moose PK units are up to the task. No more damage the rest of the period, and we are tied heading to the break. 3rd period opens up with a minor by Linseman. The Moose goes all out to capitalize and in a flurry of shots and rebounds, Maruk cashes in during the mayhem. Moose is now up 3-2. Just a minute later it’s Cote and Carson in a skirmish, and the open ice for the next 2 minutes does not produce any goals. Just as we go to full strength, it’s Dionne with a minor, and the Moose look to get an insurance goal. The Drakes circle the wagons and keep the game close at 3-2. Both teams with opportunities, but we continue into the final 2 minutes. The Moose are able to keep the puck in the Drakes zone until the last minute, and the Drakes pull the goalie and move up ice. A series of shots and rebounds disrupts the defense enough for Ihnacak to find an opening with only 15 seconds remaining, and the Drakes send it to overtime, 3-3. OT – Drakes with control early, but unable to get any shots on goal. The Moose brings the puck up ice and as they set up, a rare OT penalty on Mullen for holding. The Moose bring the big boys to take advantage, but it’s a blue liner who hits a rising shot over the shoulder of Hanlon to being this one to a happy conclusion for the home fans. Final – Moose 4, Drakes 3, OT 1st star – Propp 2G 3pts 2nd – Maruk 1G, 3pts 3rd – Dionne 1G 2pts
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Moose are able to take advantage of penalties for both of their last 2 goals to win a very tight battle between two evenly matched teams. WEEKLY PREVIEW:

WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Is it just me or does this team really stink? Rumors abound that Pelle Lindbergh, Mike Bossy, Peter Statsny & Dennis Savard all could be looking for new homes really soon. Lindbergh is actually looking for a new car too.
GAME #1: KAMSACK CYCLONES VS. CHICAGO UNDERGROUND	3 goals give Kamsack a 3-0 lead. Chicago comes back & unbelievably ties it late in the 3rd. However, Kamsack is too strong, or Chicago is that bad, but the Underground gives up 2 goals just over 1-minute apart with less than 3 to play. GAME #2: TEXAS BRAHMAS VS. CHICAGO UNDERGROUND	Someone has to be the one. It is Texas this time. Holding a 3-0 lead the Underground decided to show up in the 2nd Period. They bang home 5 goals in the 2nd, at the end of 2 periods of play holding a 5-4 lead on the Brahmas. Texas pulls within 1, but 2 late goals ultimately give Chicago their 1st win. CapJack Rangers
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Off to a lackluster start, the Rangers host a couple of hot starters in Andes (4-3-1) and Dallas (5-2-1) and top scoring team (and strong defense).
GAME #1: ANDES MOUNTAINEERS VS. CAPJACK RANGERS	Rangers score 1st taking advantage of an Andes penalty and McNab nabs his 5th goal. Then they avoid giving up a PP goal and after the penalty expires they get a goal for team lead Trottier. So it’s 2-0 CapJack after 12 minutes. But as the period reaches 2 minutes to go, Ramsay puts one past Week’s to cut it to 2-1. The period ends that way. Then 2 minutes into period 2 and the Mountaineers get the tying goal from Naslund. But then it becomes the Pettersson game as he scores twice in the 2nd period, 1 1/2 after the Andes tying goal, and then midway through the period. So that makes it 4-2 CapJack and amazingly no one scores after that. 6 goals in 1/2 a game, 0 goals in the second half. With the 4-2 Rangers win, the scoring booth awarded them all the stars: 1. Pettersson 2 goals 1 assist 2. McNab 1 goal 3. Trottier 1 goal
GAME #2: DALLAS DRAKES VS. CAPJACK RANGERS	Dallas comes to town off to a nice hot start and the Norris teams will be watching this one. Rangers McNab again gets the 1st goal in the game on this homestand – and again it’s a PP goal with 4 to go. Then in the 2nd Kromm scores, a Short-Handed goal for a 2-0 Rangers lead and that’s how we enter period 3. Trottier makes it 3-0 with an unassisted goal 3 1/2 minutes in. Then somebody in the stands wakes up the Drakes (we have to check that guy’s ticket). And the Drakes go on a goal-scoring rampage. Linseman starts it with a PP goal at the 7-minute mark. Then Mullen scores 2 minutes later and it’s now only a 3-2 Rangers lead. Then Carson scores with 6 1/2 to go and the game is tied!! As the clock ticks down, the fans who have been quiet since the tying goal, come alive and start the “Let’s Go Rangers, Let’s Go Rangers” chant – and boy oh boy, it works as Kromm scores his 2nd goal of the game on a 1-timer from Crowder, 4-3 CapJack with 57 left in the game. So it’s an all-out Drakes attack, extra skater, empty net, and well after Beck blocks a shot, Arniel scoops it up and sends it down the ice, and GOAL! 5-3 Rangers and that’s how it ends. SURPRISE!! WEEKLY SUMMARY:	So the Rangers pull off a 2-0-0 week at home and maybe this new squad is beginning to gel!

Saint Clair Shores Saints
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	St. Clair Shores hosts Texas and Hyannisport this week.
GAME #1: TEXAS BRAHMAS VS. SAINT CLAIR SHORES SAINTS	A high scoring game for the Saints. 5 goals were scored in the 1st period. Benning, Craven, and Nilan score for the Saints, and Svoboda and Pavelich score for Texas. It’s 3-2, Saints after one. In the second, the Brahmas and Saints exchange goals. In the 3rd, Texas scores courtesy of Taylor to tie the game. But, Nilan scores the go-ahead. Gustafsson scores an empty netter and the Saints win. SCS 6 Texas 4 1-Nilan 2-Svoboda 3-Benning
GAME #2: HYANNISPORT PRESIDENTS VS. SAINT CLAIR SHORES SAINTS	The Presidents invade L’Anse Creuse arena. Great defensive game. Stefan and Mason are flawless in goal. No goals are scored in regulation. OT – Rick Tocchet scores his 2nd goal of the season to win the game. SCS 1 Hyannisport 0 (OT) 1- Mason 2- Stefan 3-Tocchet
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	The Saints secure four points with victories against Texas and Hyannisport.

Dallas Drakes
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Pittsburgh comes to Dallas
GAME #1: PITTSBURGH SPIRIT VS. DALLAS DRAKES	Steve Payne and Michel Goulet come out firing for the Spirit and at 5:19 the spirit leads 2-0. Sinisalo cuts the lead to 2-1 but Mike O’Connell restores the 2-goal lead heading into intermission. Sinisalo and Larouche trade goals in the second period and the Spirit lead 4-2 after two. The Drakes dominate the third as Marcel Dionne scores and John Anderson scores twice giving the Drakes the lead at the 16:59 mark…. and with the pulled goalie Mike Rogers scores to send the game into overtime. The Spirit dominate the overtime with the Drakes not even getting a shot off and before the 2-minute mark, the damn breaks and Michel Goulet ices the game for the Spirit 6-5
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Lose the only game at home

Texas Brahmas
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	After a surprising start, Texas sits a couple of key players this block and the road results were not promising. Coming home for one game against Kamsack, Texas does welcome back Nilsson to the lineup.

It was the “Tim Kerr Show” as he netted a hat trick and added an assist.

Ohio Legends
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	The Ohio Legends host a pair of games this week, as Capjack and Texas come to town.
GAME #1: TEXAS BRAHMAS VS. OHIO LEGENDS	OHIO 5, TEXAS 1 Hakan Loob and Steve Yzerman each had a goal and an assist and Pat Riggin stopped 30 shots in the 5-1 win for Ohio over Texas. Mike Milbury scored the Brahmas goal and Murray Bannerman had 27 saves in the loss.
GAME #2: CAPJACK RANGERS VS. OHIO LEGENDS	OHIO 10, CAPJACK 6 A five-goal second-period explosion for Ohio broke a 2-2 tie and set the club on its way to a 10-6 victory over Capjack. The Legends capitalized with five power-play goals (in seven tries), as Moe Lemay and Hakan Loob each had a pair of man-advantage markers. The Rangers were successful on the power play as well, notching a pair of lamp lighters in six tries. Peter McNab had a pair of goals for CapJack and Dave Barr chipped in with three assists for the Rangers.

Portland Sasquatch
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	The Portland Sasquatch has gotten off to a very rough start (1-7) and looking to get a little momentum as St Clair (5-1-1) and Chicago (0-7-1) visit town
GAME #1: SAINT CLAIR SHORES SAINTS VS. PORTLAND SASQUATCH	Portland gets on the board first with 10 minutes remaining in the 1st period when Lamoureaux (1) nets his first goal of the season. In the 2nd period, Saint Clair’s Nilan (2) evens the score 8:05 into the period but Portland responds when Foligno (2) scores at the 17:06 mark. The Saints managed to even the score 2-2 when Huddy (1) scored with 1:13 remaining in the period. With the game tied at 2 entering the third Saint Clair pulls away on goals from Macoun (2) and Tocchet (2) in the first 3:54 to win 4-2 The game featured 40 minutes of penalties and 2 fights Star #1 – Tocchet 1 goal Star #2 – Huddy 1 goal Star #3 – Macoun 1 goal
GAME #2: CHICAGO UNDERGROUND VS. PORTLAND SASQUATCH	The winless Underground visit Portland as the Sasquatch look to get a little confidence Chicago’s Mondou (1) opens the scoring 8:34 into the period but Portland manages to even the score on a power play goal from Cirella (1) at the 12:30 mark. The tie game didn’t last long as the Undergound’s Sutter (4) scores 15 seconds later Chicago gets goals from Bell (1) in the 2nd period and a power play goal from Bossy (3) in the 3rd period to win 4-1 and earn their first victory of the season Star #1 – Lindbergh 32 saves Star #2 – Bell 1 goal 1 assist Star #3 – Bossy 1 goal 1 assist
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Well, Portland was hoping to get a few points but ended up losing both games including handing Chicago their first win of the season. Looks like it’s going to be a very long season in Portland

Andes Mountaineers

Michigan Stags
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	With a home ice record of 1-1-1, the Stags seek some consistency, and better defense and goaltending, as Portland, Andes and Dallas come to town. However, Michigan was not up to the task, going 1-2-0 and giving up goals at a remarkable pace.
GAME #1: PORTLAND SASQUATCH VS. MICHIGAN STAGS	Michigan overcame a Guy Carbonneau hat trick to defeat the Sasquatch 6-5 for their only home win of the segment. The Stags trailed 4-2 late in the middle period. A late goal by Eddie Beers pulled them within one. Early third-period markers from Shutt and Gare put Michigan ahead to stay. But when Portland’s Gilles Hamel scored with 4 minutes and change to go, Michigan fans held their collective breath until the final buzzer sounded.
GAME #2: ANDES MOUNTAINEERS VS. MICHIGAN STAGS	The Mountaineers embarrassed the Stags 7-1. Bobby Carpenter opened the scoring for Michigan before many fans had taken their seats, and after what followed most came to wish that they never had. Fox and Picard each netted a pair for the visitors. Goaltending for the Stags was atrocious – – surrendering 7 goals on just 21 SOG.
GAME #3: DALLAS DRAKES VS. MICHIGAN STAGS	The Drakes become the second consecutive visiting team to light the lamp 7 times at Cobo Arena, as they defeated Michigan 7-5. Incredibly, the Stags actually led in the contest 4-1 with 1:47 to go in the first period. But then Dallas woke up and reeled off the next 5 to win going away. Marcel Dionne picked up 2G+1A for Dallas, as did Sylvain Turgeon in a losing effort.
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Goaltending and defensive woes continue.

Hyannisport Presidents
GAME #1: CAPJACK RANGERS VS. HYANNISPORT PRESIDENTS	Hyannisport scores twice in the latter stages of the 3rd period to tie the game at 3-3 and when CapJack takes a penalty with 1:02 remaining the hometown fans smell a comeback win. Instead, the Presidents promptly give up a short-handed goal and lose. Larry Robinson has 3 assists for the visitors. FINAL SCORE CJR 4 – HYP 3
GAME #2: MICHIGAN STAGS VS. HYANNISPORT PRESIDENTS	The Stags come to town and completely abuse the President. They open the game with 2 short-handed goals in the first 8 minutes and it gets worse from there. Hyannisport goalies give up ELEVEN goals on 30 shots including an unreal FOUR short-handed goals. Two of those shorties come as part of a Bill Gardner hat trick while John Ogrodnick has 5 assists. FINAL SCORE MIC 11 – HYP 11
GAME #3: CHARLESTOWN CHIEFS VS. HYANNISPORT PRESIDENTS	The Chiefs visit the Presidents in an old school Federal League grudge match. After back-to-back crushing defeats (in very different fashions) and blowing 2-0 and 3-2 leads in this one the Hyannisport fans head for the exits. But the home team is able to rally and score twice in the final 5 minutes and 3rd string goalie Ken Wregget makes 30 saves. FINAL SCORE CHC 4 – HYP 5
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Hyannisport gets brutalized by Michigan running their home losing streak to 4 games but manages to edge Charlestown in the final week 3 home game.

Charlotte Dynamo
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Charlotte entered the week with a promising 4-2-1 record, good for first in an Adams division where it looks like the title could be up for grabs. Five of the Dynamo’s first seven games were on the road, so Charlotte is the beneficiary of a three-game homestand this week. The Dynamo are choosing the week to sit lots of players however and get its usage ducks in a row early in the season, while it has the minor cushion atop the division. Will it distance itself from other Adams contenders – or slip back?
GAME #1: ANDES MOUNTAINEERS VS. CHARLOTTE DYNAMO	Speaking of watching its usage closely, the Dynamo hand the starting goalie job to third-stringer Doug Keans against a Mountaineers squad showing some spunk in an uber-competitive Smythe division (4-3-1 entering the contest). And Keans plays as well as can be expected with a goalie percentage of .933 for the game. But Greg Millen was just as good in net for the Mountaineers, stopping 22 shots in regulation against one goal. Both netminders just allowed one goal in regulation and this one went into overtime, where it looked like it would end in a tie – before aging defenseman, Brad Park shot a puck eluding Keans with a scant 46 seconds left showing in OT, for the 2-1 Andes win. The game was a scoreless deadlock until 4:14 of the second period when Andes’ Mats Naslund scored his eighth goal already of this young season on assists by Stan Smyl and defenseman Larry Murphy. Dale Hawerchuk knotted things up with a goal with 48 seconds remaining in the period and the teams played scoreless through the third in what was an incredibly evenly played contest. Three stars (all Andes): 1. Park, 1 G (the game-winner in overtime) 2. Millen (24 saves, good for a .960 save percentage) 3. Naslund 1 G
GAME #2: CHARLESTOWN CHIEFS VS. CHARLOTTE DYNAMO	In stark contrast to the Andes game, the contest against Charleston was a high-scoring affair. Charlotte grabbed a 2-0 lead on the strength of power-play goals by Lanny McDonald and Glenn Anderson. Then Charlestown responded in a huge way. It outscored the Dynamo 3-1 in the second period then fired off three more in the third as the Chiefs pelted Andy Moog and their hosts 6-3.First star Paul Coffey led the way for the Chiefs with two third-period goals in the third that broke a 3-3 tie and Mario Lemieux added an empty netter with three seconds.Three stars (all Charlestown): 1. Coffey 2 G, 3 points 2. Kelly Kisio 1 G (tied the score at 2-2 early in the second and he added an assist later in the period leading to a Terry O’Reilly goal that put Charlestown ahead at the time 3-2) 3. Lemieux 1 empty-net goal and 2 pointsNotable: Al MacInnis with three assists for Charleston, and all of Charlotte’s goals come on the power play in a chippy game (3 for 10)
GAME #3: OHIO LEGENDS VS. CHARLOTTE DYNAMO	Charlotte salvaged an 8-8 tie against Ohio in this homestand but this wild affair felt more like a loss: the Dynamo, leading 8-5 faltered mightily down the stretch, yielding three late unanswered goals, two by Legends Steve Yzerman and defenseman Gordi Roberts, with the latter goal coming with just 1:09 left in regulation (the teams only managed three shots in the scoreless five minute overtime, two of them coming from Ohio). Keans, again inserted in nets for Charlotte, wilted late, allowing four third-period goals, two of them coming from Tim Kerr in the second and third as the Legends rallied. Brian McLellan also scored two goals for Ohio to garner first-star honors. Three stars: 1. MacLellan 2 Goals, 4 points 2. Kerr, 2 G, 3 Pts 3. CHD Dale Hawerchuk 2 G, 3 points
WEEKLY SUMMARY:	It is back to the drawing board for the Dynamo who are extended to overtime twice and can only salvage 1 measly point in three home games to cede control of the Adams division (it’s never easy). Goalies Andy Moog and Doug Keans get lit up like Christmas trees in the latter two games.

For a while, the Ducks did so as the game was only 1-0 Moose after two periods. In the third, MIM made it 2-0 on a goal by Denis Maruk (4). NCD finally got on the scoreboard when Rick Middleton scored (7) on the power play with 10:42 to go in the period.
