Vermont Foresters @ Quebec City Le Blue Foresters win!
Weekly Summary: Quebec City can’t beat the good teams.

CapJack Rangers
Weekly Preview: CapJack hosts Saskatoon and Mackinac Island this week hoping to continue their recent winning ways
Saskatoon Cyclone @ CapJack Rangers Rangers employed an aggressive start hoping that a good offense could act as a good defense. By 5 minutes into period 2 it was 4-1 Rangers – Cloutier netting 2 of those goals. Gretzky (26) put one in at 14 minute mark in period 2, but it was quickly answered so Shard’s 3rd period goal wasn’t enough – especially when Gare got his 2nd goal 10 minutes later. Final 6-3 CapJack.
STARS (all CAP)
1. Cloutier 2 goals
2. Gare 2 goals
3. Trottier 1 goal, 1 point (and he won 20 faceoffs)
Mackinac Island Moose @ CapJack Rangers Well after getting past Gretzky and Saskatoon, the Rangers were flying pretty high. They then went out and scored 4 goals in the opening period of their encounter with the MOOSE. In between those 4 goals, Barber puts on in for Mackinac Island and period 1 ends 4-1 Rangers. Then the Moose roared (or snorted or whatever it is a Moose does – maybe a call – on a phone??). Barber gets his 2nd goal of the game in the 2nd and with it 4-2 and 6 minutes to go, Boutette scores, 4-3. Final minute and they pull the goalie and the home team fans groaned in unison as Zanussi steals on and puts the biscuit in the basket WITH ONE SECOND REMAINING IN THE GAME!!! UGH!!!!!! Game ends in a 4-4 tie.
STARS:
1. (MAC) Barber 2 goals
2. (CAP) Shutt 1 goal, 1 assist
3. (CAP) Douglas 1 goal
Meloche got a notable with 30 saves, Trottier for 17 faceoffs won.
But how can you not credit Zanussi who STOLE the game from the Rangers.

Vermont Foresters
Weekly Preview: vermont is looking to turn things around after going 2-5-3 in their last 10 games with 3 home games this week against silk city, biloxi, and quebec city. vermont will tinker with their lines a bit to try and get better production from an underperforming 3rd line and the spur a turn around.
Silk City Whales @ Vermont Foresters vermont couldnt ask for a better team to look to turn things around then the whales, the owners of the leagues worst record. the foresters started ron grahame in net against mario lessard for silk city and it looked like the foresters made a big mistake. goals by eric vail and pat price had the foresters up 2-0 5:24 into the game. by the 10:57 mark of the 1st they were down 3-2 as kehoe, messier and sutter scored for the visitors. 5 minutes later craig ramsey tied the score at 3. vermont outshot silk city 16-8 after 1 period but the game was tied 3-3. the whales took the lead again on sutters second goal of the game with just over 7 minutes left in the 2nd. rich preston even things up at 4 with a late ppg in another period dominated by vermont with a 14-8 edge in shots on goal. the game remained tied for most of the 3rd period that vermont continued to dominate until eric vail scored his 2nd of the game with just under 6 minutes left. a little over a minute later craig ramsey followed with his 2nd of the game and reggie leach finished the scoring and the whales with an empty netter for the 7-4 final. the foresters attempted an astounding 90 shots, putting 50 on goal to 29 attempts with 20 on goal for the whales. ramsey ended up with 2 goals and an assist and vermonts leading scorer kent nilsson was held scoreless.
Biloxi Blades @ Vermont Foresters the blades made the trip to b and j from mississippi for vermonts 2nd home game and saw a goaltender matchup of glen hanlon for the home team against john davidson for the visitors. mike foligno and vermont wasted little time getting things going with a goal less than a minute into the game. morris lukowich made it 2-0 with his 22nd goal of the year at the 13:17 mark of the 1st. play was balanced with sog even for the period at 9. the 2nd period saw a lot of action, a lot of shooting, 15-11 edge to biloxi, but no scoring. the 3rd period saw the balance swing back towards the home team with a 15-9 edge in shots and goals by reggie leach and dale mccourt in the first 6 minutes of the 3rd period and glen hanlon stood tall for his first shutout of the year and a 4-0 final for the foresters. dale mccourt had a goal and assist and eric vail and kent nilsson both had 2 assists.
Quebec City Le Blue @ Vermont Foresters le blue made the quick trip south for vermonts 3rd home game of the week and the 1st half of a home and home with quebec. vermonts 3rd game saw their 3rd goalie as mike veisor was between the pipes against tony-o for le blue. this was an odd game seeing quebec get 8 powerplays against vermont who came in the least penalized team in the league. after a scoreless 1st period, leduc scored 1:41 into the 2nd giving le blue the lead. kent nilsson evened the score at the 8:26 mark with his 21st of the year and the 2nd ended tied at 1 after very even play with sog even at 25. vermont took control of the game when terry oreilly was given a major penalty and a game misconduct for charging 5 minutes into the 3rd. le blue managed to kill off the 5 minute penalty but vermonts relentless attack finally wore them down as pat price netted his 5th of the year on the powerplay at 14:12 and craig ramsey sealed the victory with less than a minute left after keeping play in quebecs end not allowing them to pull the goalie to try and even the score. nillson had a goal and assist and mark howe 2 assists while playing against his father.
Weekly Summary: vermont was able to get the turn around they were looking for sweeping all 3 games only allowing 5 goals, 4 by grahame in the 1st game. vermont got back to their winning ways by playing strong defense and balanced offense. the powerplay was 3-14 and the pk was a perfect 13-13 for the week.
